Community Marketplace (creators)

What it is

The Community Marketplace lists app-first bundles: prompts, snippets, commands, workflows, skills, agents, rules, and automations targeting specific Windows apps via process names. Browsing the catalog is free and does not require a consumer account. Installing a bundle inside FluentOverlay requires FluentOverlay Pro.

Shortcut JSON packs and the Pack Editor follow the separate flows in Shortcut packs and Creating custom packs — they are not distributed through this marketplace in v1.

Supported families (v1)

Only these built-in overlay tab families are allowed. Each uploaded file is one JSON artifact validated against the same shapes FluentOverlay uses for that tab.

Not in scope for v1: shortcut packs, generic/custom tab definitions, ratings, or consumer login on the website.

Artifact rules

• One row per family per bundle version — upload valid JSON for each family you ship.
• Process names must list the Windows executables this bundle applies to (e.g. Code.exe, EXCEL.EXE). The app matches the foreground process to decide when content applies.
• Locales declare which language codes you support for that version (subset of the website’s allowed locale list).
• Storage layout and local filenames after install follow the shared contract (see repository doc docs/marketplace/FS-Community-Marketplace-v1-Contract.md).

Moderation flow

Each version has a lifecycle:

1. Draft — you edit uploads and metadata; not public.
2. Submitted — you request review; moderators see it in the moderation queue.
3. Approved — moderators accepted the version; it is still not visible in the public catalog.
4. Published — a moderator publishes the version; it appears on the marketplace index and detail pages, and only then can FluentOverlay Pro obtain an install manifest for that version.
5. Rejected — moderators can reject with a note; fix and resubmit as needed.

There is no instant public upload: publication is always gated.

Install manifest (for Pro users)

After publish, each public bundle version has a stable version id. FluentOverlay Pro requests a short-lived JSON manifest from the website API; the manifest lists HTTPS artifact URLs, SHA-256 checksums, process names, and deterministic local filenames. The app validates expiry, license (pro), family allow-list, and JSON shape, then downloads artifacts and refreshes the typed loaders.

Free users may browse the website catalog but must not complete install/apply in the app.

Pack improvements via GitHub and the contact form remain described in Contributing. Marketplace bundles are an additional path for typed content distributed through Fluent Studio’s moderated pipeline.
